My timing is not always right.
First I make you a cake during Lent when many people give up sweets for starters and now I share my obsession with finding the perfect kimono for the impending spring (and summer). Freezing rain is on today’s radar, but not for long. Yesterday I compared these lingering, bitter winter days to the last brutal minutes of a spin class. You know when you want to just say screw this and go home and crack open a bottle of wine? Yeah…just like that. The good news is if you stick it out for just.ten.more.minutes (or days here, I am talking DAYS if you’re still following my analogy) you’ll free pretty amazing and the reward is that much sweeter.
Sidenote: The analogy section was by far my favorite part of the SAT. I literally thought analogies were fun and games. Math section? Cue the tears.
Enter SPRING!
Enter KIMONO!
I like the idea of a kimono but not sure how they fit into my daily life. As much as I would like for it to, something about a full-time job at a law firm just doesn’t scream boho chic. Beach life however, I think I can get behind it.
Jessica Alba always looks effortlessly glam at the beach! Let’s take a page out of her book:
For a kimono as a beach cover up, look for sheer material and keep the colors light. Save the dark, intense colors for dinner and drinks.
Must: Alloy $40
Maybe: Urban Outfitters ($80)
Lust: Anna Sui (on sale for $196)
Throw on a fedora or other hat of choice, and you are that much closer to being Jessica Alba.
I am personally lusting after this hat:
Brixton ($42)
Would you wear a sheer kimono as a beach cover up?

Yes I love kimonos and actually work at a smaller law firm and I have gotten away with wearing a kimono chiffon cardigan with dress pants and tank top so I love this!!
