We’ve all played that game and it usually doesn’t end well. But this time the question is less about sophomoric mistakes and more about bacon. Never have I ever driven two and a half hours just for a sandwich? I’d have to drink to that.
Enter Sandwhich, the home of the life altering BLT. In fact, it’s so good, it’s outrageous. The OBLT became a staple in my college diet, much to the chagrin of my skinny jeans. Apparently locally sourced food has calories too (what?!)
Thick and crunchy bacon, the consistently ripe and juicy tomatoes (and plenty of them!), creamy avocado and roasted jalapeño sandwiched between two chewy slices of sourdough, it’s just dreamy. And it inspired a 2.5 hour drive just to get it. Don’t worry, the culinary tour de Chapel Hill didn’t stop there.
Sometimes you just have to let your hair down and feast like it’s 2006!
What’s the farthest you’ve traveled to satisfy a craving? Am I just insane?
