The weeks are long but simultaneously seem to fly. Friday-you’ve been waiting for it all week, then it comes to slap you in the face when you least expect it! By Friday, I think everyone can use a little inspiration! In keeping with last Friday’s “friday focus” post, I want to share with you an event coming up next Tuesday at Pisces (home of my favorite martini!) to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Did you know that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the WORLD’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer? Neither did I.

This organization is so powerful and the Charlotte presence is amazing!! Most of us know someone who has been affected by one or more of these diseases.  I have friends and family that I am so thankful to say have fought Leukemia and live full and incredible lives today!

WHY: To benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: ALL proceeds go towards the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission of finding a cure for blood cancers.

A minimum $10 donation gets you access to the lounge, one drink ticket and one raffle ticket to win one of three $25 gift certificates to Pisces.  Additional raffle tickets for more prizes are available to purchase; prizes include, a gift card to Splurge Boutique, two personal training sessions from Fit Central, a golf foursome at Firethorne Country Club and more! Light hors d’oeuvres will be served and the bar will be open for additional drink purchases. I hope you will come out! I am particularly excited to enjoy a Far East Manhattan which is one of mixologist Bob Peter’s specialty concoctions.

 

I hope to recreate the Far East Manhattan for you soon! Although there’s no way it will be quite as refined as Bob’s masterpiece!

After that martini buzz sets in, I will be setting my hopes high to win a Splurge gift certificate! This local boutique, owned by Ann Moore and Laura Schwedo, just opened in February in the Myers Park Center on Providence Road.
