Be Mine: What to Wear

It’s been a busy week!  The days have been tightly packed with both work and play, and even some midnight baking.

You may have seen my preview of the salted caramel brownies I posted on Instagram–they are as mouth-watering as they look. I mean I ate a dinner complete with Cherry Berry tonight and that picture makes me yearn for more.  I promise to share the recipe and step by step directions with photos on how to make them!

Valentine’s Day, or the “Hallmark Holiday” as it has been so lovingly coined, is right around the corner whether you like it or not.  I personally have very fond memories of passing out Lisa Frank (always Lisa Frank) valentines and candy (usually Reese’s Cups) in elementary school. How can you not get excited about that? I know you all may not be a huge fan of this day, but it’s almost here and of course we need an outfit.

I’ve been drawn to girlier pieces lately, which is a new thing for me. I used to hate bows and wouldn’t even consider a necklace covered in flowers. Now it’s all tutus and pale pink around here! Not really, but I like keeping an open mind about fashion and definitely think that personal style is constantly evolving.

Getting a little risque with the crop top.  This is the same crop top I wore back in October to the Pearl Jam concert.  Totally different look here… I think this is great for a Valentine’s dinner or any date night because it’s just a tiny flash of skin, and very much on trend.

Crop Top: American Apparel / Skirt: BCBGeneration / Shoes: Dolce Vita / Jacket: Mackage (purchased during Nordstrom Semi-Annual Sale) /Sunglasses: Gucci /Necklace: Stella & Dot/Tights: Target

Add a leather jacket for a tough ballerina look.  I don’t think I’m exceptionally tough but this jacket is a great disguise.

I want to give a huge thank you to Charlotte Street Style for featuring me on their site yesterday! I am honored and look forward to seeing the rest of their 2014 editorial series! It’s great to see so much style in Charlotte, NC!

Check back tomorrow for the brownie recipe.  Tomorrow is…Friday!
