Whirlwind Week

How was everyone’s week? Mine was a whirlwind, but definitely not short on fun! The fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society was a great success, especially for its first year! I even won a spray tan and GloMinerals makeover from Glow Charlotte. I am crazy for spray tans, as a retired tan-oholic, this is a much safer way to get your bronze on. Needless to say, I am very excited!

Here are a few pictures from the event:

The food was so yummy. Not pictured-the crab filled wontons that were out of this world.

Far East Manhattan and the specialty cocktail

I know this event is only going to continue to grow! Congratulations on the success of your first annual fundraiser, ladies!

The following day I attended Blo Blow Dry Bar ‘s grand opening and media event and received a complimentary blow out! This was definitely the best blow out experience I’ve ever had. My hair can be a bit tricky.  Not only do I rock two different hair textures (one being incredibly coarse), it’s pretty thick to boot. And don’t get me started on my cowlick and widow’s peak! It’s taken years of training and countless hours of YouTube tutorials to tame my mane. However, my Blo stylist Yasmin thought my hair was a walk in the park! She did a wonderful job.

The salon is located in the Colony Road Shops on Selwyn Avenue, near Doll boutique and the soon to open Denim House!

The decorations were adorable. How cute are those marshmallows?

There are several different blow out styles to choose from.  I was torn between the Holly Would and Pillow Talk:

I went with Pillow Talk –

What do you guys think? (And yes, I just got a red stripe in my bangs last week!)

I felt very Veronica Lake!! I am not used to exposing my widow’s peak, but I have to say, I’m digging this retro look.  It’s good to mix things up, don’t ya think? Maybe I can convince Pam from Yes, it is Kevin to do a tutorial on this for me!! Her blog is full of amazing beauty tips and tricks!

I would absolutely return to Blo and highly recommend you check them out! At $35 per blow out, it is a feasible splurge that will make you feel like a million bucks!

I am curious to know…do any of you get regular blow outs? What are your favorite ways to pamper yourself?

Have a wonderful weekend!
