I have always been drawn to vintage and retro inspired clothing-cigar box purses, high waisted-shorts, pencil skirts, and flared denim are just a few of my favorites! There is something so feminine about retro styles that I just love. I think the silhouettes are flattering and just the right amount of sexy.
When I was contacted by eShakti to do a product review, I thought it would be a great idea! eShakti is an online retailer that makes custom-made clothing without a steep price tag. The look they specialize in is considered modern retro, which is perfect for days when you want to unleash your inner Mad Men diva. (Side note, when I watched this series, I began drinking whisky and dressing like the ladies below on the reg.)
The great thing about eShakti is that they can make custom pieces to your exact measurements, with the option of adding sleeves, adjusting the neckline, etc. I ordered off of the standardized size chart because my measurements were very close to a standard size. I ordered the Corset Style Stretch Dress, pictured below.

It appears my highlights need some attention!!

Bracelet: Stella & Dot Lucia Bracelet, Similar Here / Lipstick Chanel Rouge Allure in Secrete
Thanks to my mother for taking these pictures and thanks to Louie for letting me hold him for 30 seconds!
He looks like a mad scientist with those crazy whiskers!
I would definitely order from eShakti again. Overall, the dress was a good fit, with the exception of the bust. You can’t tell from the pictures, but the bust is really tight on me. Perhaps if I had ordered a dress with my exact measurements, this problem would have been alleviated. I also had the skirt of this dress taken up several inches. Despite providing my height (I am 5’6″) this dress was too long. $14 in alterations later and I had one amazing dress! I would wear this to dinner, brunch, a baby or bridal shower. The neckline is flirty but in no way revealing.
What do you think about this outfit? What is your favorite retro inspired look?
And just for fun, here are a few of my other favorite picks from their current line! They are offering free customization through the end of the day so grab a fun dress made just for you while you can!
And a big thank you eShakti for the lovely dress!
